One of our most beloved artists, Ryan Berkley of Berkley Illustration will be in-house and on-hand on Friday, April 13th from 6-9pm with his brand new show of original artworks and limited edition prints. Keeping with the theme of their signature animal friends, Berkley will explore folklore and other themes in the human world with works of traditional folk characters and their animal companions. We can’t wait! The show will be up through May.

Check out work by Lisa Congdon, Laura McCabe, Jessica Swift and local pals, Wonder Thunder. Come have a sip, a hug -hershey’s that is- and check out the work.

Join us at Assemble Gallery and Studio on Saturday, March 3rd from 6-8pm for a presentation with Jennifer Blake from Scout Vintage, a vintage rental company in Seattle that offers sweet rentables in the form of one-of-a-kind decor to anyone looking to infuse some vintage yumminess into their special event.

Jennifer will speak about where she finds inspiration and demonstrate how repurposing found and vintage items can benefit a space. Plus, tips for being a savvy estate sale shopper! Drinks and light refreshment will be provided. See you then!

Come check out Jill Labieniec’s show, our brand new valentines and have a tasty smackerel of sweet valentine treats. Plus, if you’re in the mood, go ahead and make your own! We’ll have a station set up for card making fun. In the meantime, check out Jill’s artwork online for sale as of today. They would make excellent gifts for your honey! Learn the Sewing Machine I
$60 for a 2 hour class. All workshop materials provided.
Have you wanted to learn the basics of sewing? Here’s a good place to start! The instructor will guide you through the mechanics of the machine, fabric types plus tools and techniques to get your sewing projects underway. You will complete a simple coffee cup cozy to show off your new skills. All materials are included, but you are welcome to bring your favorite fabrics for your project.

Learn the Sewing Machine II: Beyond the Basics
$60 for a 2 hour class. All workshop materials provided.
You may be able to sew straight lines and zig-zags, but have you been wondering about the mysterious button-holer? What exactly is a zipper foot? In this class we will focus on the second level of basic sewing machines, including blind hemming stitches, inserting a zipper, adding buttons, and making ruffles & ruches. Students will finish a simple lined and zippered pouch. Basic knowledge of machine is required.

Happy New Year! We are thrilled to be starting a new year with all of our Greenwood friends. AND we are very excited about our upcoming schedule. On Friday, the 13th (eek!) of January, from 6-9pm, Assemble will be hosting the opening for local artist Jill Labieniec and her brand new show, Castles in the Air.

“Childhood memories of attic treasures nestled away in dusty corners and piled high in cardboard boxes are the inspirations for this show. Each piece tells a story, some through lazy afternoon daydreams while others rely on the viewer to create a narrative of their own out of a simple object. This collection is made up of Gocco prints, a process similar to screen printing that uses a Japanese child’s toy to make detailed and sophisticated prints.” -J. Labieniec
