I can’t think of a better artist to kick off our Fall art and shopping season. Local designers, Piano Nobile, will be gracing Assemble Gallery & Studio with their work throughout the month of October and into the beginning of November, starting up on Friday night (October 12th) from 6-9pm. Perfect graphic housewares like lampshades, trays and tea towels, plus brand new art work in their show, Paint to Print.

“Paint to Print [is] a group of new drawings, paintings, and prints that trace the process of our textiles to their beginnings as drawings [...] Exploring a variety of materials, from sumi ink to oil sticks to high resolution digital scans, these pieces illuminate the stages of development of a drawing to its final three-dimensional form. Spontaneous, quirky, and a little bit messy, these drawings spark our studio practice and ignite our conversations. Also on display: our fall collection of textiles, lighting, and home goods, as well as R&L notebooks featuring our fabric!” -Piano Nobile

Honestly, if I were you I would come early because I may have purchased all of their work by the end of the night, myself. This stuff is special. Wine, snacks and general merriment as well! We hope to see you there!!

What? Little G Across America Designer Showcase with Cub Report Card
When? Friday, September 14th, 6-9pm

I’m really not sure that gerbils get enough credit. I mean, they’re obviously the most stealthy of the domesticated rodents. Plus they’re adorable. My husband and I have a silly day dream about getting two gerbils and naming them Grandma and Grandpa. I digress.

This Friday, the 14th (that’s tomorrow!) from 6-9pm, one of our favorite stationery and accessories designers, Cub Report Card, will be stopping by to showcase a trunk full of new designs, all centered around (okay, now my ramble is about to make sense) a little Gerbil named Little G — and he is traveling across America, perhaps to your own state!

Little G will be at Assemble with tons of brand new friends including T-shirts, tote bags, brand new card styles, pillows and much more. Here’s one teeny, tiny sneak peek but that’s all you get!

Make sure to shop by and see us (and Little G). It’s the end of the summer and we are in good spirits. Only four Artwalks left before the big switch to online only! Be sure to check out our new website and blog as well. Fall’s a comin’! -Andie (& Emily)

Hello lovely friends and customers! We have a very important announcement for you all!

Emily & I have decided to transfer Assemble Gallery & Studio into an exclusively online shop starting in January, 2013. We LOVE our space, community and events, but we are ready to try something new and exciting! Our physical brick & mortar shop will be open until after Christmas, (and keep December 14th on your calendar for a huge, celebratory BASH!) We hope everyone in the area comes out to support us! As for our workshops, Assemble will continue tutorials in online video form and workshop kits which you can order from our website and do at home! Plus, we have new aspects of our business that we are looking forward to, including custom design for events, weddings, and parties! Plus, you just might be able to persuade us to do a private workshop or two!

Emily and I are EXCITED about this new venture and are looking at it as an opportunity for growth in a larger, online community. We would LOVE if our loyal customers would spread the word on blogs, twitter and facebook to get the word out. In some ways, we are starting over with a whole new audience, and we need all the help we can get from our friends! It’s tough to be the new kid, folks! So, perhaps you have noticed that our site is a bit different?! We are loving the new layout, but obviously don’t want you to be confused in the process. If you’re looking to shop our entire inventory online, click on the shop page. You can also sign up for workshops within that shop, under the Kits & Workshops category. (Assemble Kits are coming soon!) Check here for shop news, and definitely take a look at our new Custom Design section. This Friday, June 8th! Artwalk Funzies.

This Friday, June 8th from 6-9pm, come out to Assemble to see a brand new show by local artist, Janelle Lile, entitled Modified. Inspired by family history, Janelle uses inherited objects to guide her creative direction. Her grandmother’s knitting needles and hand-written patterns along with her grandfather’s collection of 20th century Montana railroad books are incorporated into layered mixed-media drawings that explore memory and connection to the creativity of women. Modified will be showing through August 8th, 2012. Artwork will be available for online sale after the reception.

Also showing, the lovely collage works of love that our Girl Crush participants created after the day-long workshop. Come see what the day inspired! Works are not for sale (but maybe if you really love one, you can haggle with the artist!)
