Open Call For Crafty Artists & Street Team

For the first time here at Assemble Gallery, we would like to extend an Open Call for craft-as-modern-art gallery artists! We are excited to announce our first collaborative group show for January 2011, and would like to see what secret, amazing talent is hiding out there. Please see below for some simple guidelines on portfolio submissions and happy crafting!

GUIDELINES FOR GALLERY SUBMISSIONS:

1. All submissions must be sent to us in an email format. Assemble will not accept any in-store solicitations or phone calls regarding portfolio submissions. Our email address is info@assembleshop.com

2. Please limit your document and photo attachments, but feel free to share any online work with us including websites or flickr accounts.

3. All pieces of submitted art must fit into a “craft-as-modern-art medium” (i.e. needlework, fiber arts, paper-cuts, printmaking, etc.)

4. Preliminary details about the January show will only be available to accepted artists.

5. We have a very small staff, and unfortunately, will not be able to respond to every submission. If we are interested in showing your work, we will get in touch with you via email.

ALSO: we’re looking for an Assemble Gallery & Studio Street Team Wanna participate? We are looking for one or two Assemblers from each neighborhood in Seattle: 1-2 from Fremont, 1-2 from Greenwood, 1-2 from Ballard, etc. We would love to use your Street Team skills to spread the word about Assemble. Street team members will receive discounts off of art, workshops and merchandise in exchange for their services. Spaces are limited, so email us soon! Email info@assembleshop.com with the subject heading, “street team” for more details.
